Get it? No, wait! Don’t leave! Anyway, in my previous post, I mentioned that everything I’ve learned about crochet, I learned on the internet for free. Stitches, special techniques, patterns… you name it! Even though I’ve been crocheting since 2016, I still consider myself a novice and I continue to refer to these YouTube channels/blogs!
I thought I would share these YouTube channels and blogs with you today. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU :’).
All About Ami - Stephanie creates everything from scarves to cardigans, to amigurumi. Her tutorials are really in depth and the pictures help to make even the trickiest details easy to understand. Don’t forget to follow her on Instagram!
Aphid777 on Deviant Art - Evelyn has some of the most amazing amigurumi I’ve ever seen. Looking through her portfolio, I can only aspire to have such an eye for crochet design! I learned the basics of needle felting onto crocheted works from a post she made on DA. Check out her Instagram, too!
Sharon Ojala - She’s got a YouTube channel with super easy-to-follow tutorials, as well as a website, chock full of free patterns. Her video on the Magic Ring technique is the only reason why I can actually do one! Thanks to awesome people like Sharon, I was able to get into the craft in the first place!
HanDIY Tutorials - I was able to make my first successful Amigurumi creation thanks to this awesome blog & YouTube channel. I crocheted along with the YouTube tutorial for BB-8. I ended up gifting it to a good friend as a present! It was so uplifting and motivating, feeling like I could actually make something!
I also want to give a shout-out to these artists as well. I love admiring their creations and each artist (including the ones mentioned above) serve as inspiration for me to keep on going!
Is there a particular artist that you’ve come across on the internet (or in a book) that you’d love to shout-out? Let me know in the comments and I’ll be sure to check ‘em out.
Cindy.
